Searching for WIFI.... No ELM Found

Post by Deacon » Thu Dec 28, 2017 7:30 pm

On my laptop. Keep getting " Searching for WIFI. No ELM Found. Please check connection and retry." Have tried bluetooth and hard wired ELM. Same response. How do I get the program to find my ELM?

I had some issues with this. I found that I needed to make the connection default. I don't know if you are using Bluetooth or USB or WiFi but, whichever you use, it might be a good idea to do what I did.

^^ forcing the selection helped me to establish a connection when I was running my bluetooth dongle.

I had the No ELM...message with my USB connection...until I installed the updated/correct driver for my OHP ELM327, then worked like a charm afterwards.

I had the same symptoms/problem today, turns out the CH340 connector driver needed updating. Worked fine after update.

Update the DRIVER for the device you are using.
For my VEEPEAK OBDCheck MS Scan Tool For MS-CAN & OBD II
device the direction was as follows:
Device Driver Sometimes the driver is already included in Windows and the device can be recognized correctly. However, if the device is not recognized, you can install the driver by the following ways:
1. Auto Update: in Device Manger, find "USB to Serial" with yellow exclamatory mark, right click it and select "Update driver", then search automatically for updated driver software (make sure you have good internet connection)
2. Download the driver and install from our website: https://www.veepeak.com/producVobdcheck-ms/

Once this is done you should be good to go.

Check the info for your own scan tool.

I'm having the same problem with my ODBLinkMX+ What should the settings be? If I need to update a driver, how do I do that?

I have the same trouble. I'm thinking it is the elm 327 I have. Tried running the driver's for it again since I have not used the program in awhile. Still no luck.
