Loss connection to multiple modules

Post by Looke46 »

Is there a way to reset the PCM?
When I try it says it’s not supported.

I tried to took up my fogs via the DRL signal to a relay (battery was low also)
When finished, had to jump start the car.
Now non of my turn signals or steering wheel controls work.
I have a sys shift fault also.
When I scan, I get lost communication to multiple modules.
Is there a fix for this? I tried to reset each module, I’m Able to reset each but the pcm.
The car seems to shift fine and drive fine, no issues
Any help would be great.

Post your screen images of the strategies and all the recorded faults.
Post your screen image at the Modules tab.
Use this tool to create the screen captures.

What schematic did you use to attach the harness for the extra lighting.
Disconnect that added relay, the BCM and or PCM is not happy.
What transmission is installed?
Is this a Euro or NA model?

I used a relay, positive from the battery and negative from the body of the car.
I only used signal from the day time running light of the headlight to turn on the relay.
Everything worked fine but battery was low, wouldn’t start after.
Once I used my booster back, it started but my turn signal was always on. So I removed all the wiring and I had the same issue. Now my turn signals are not on but they do not work. My steering wheel controls do not work, my wipers only work in fastest setting and I get a system shift fault

I can go into the configuration and for example change setting like disable the hood switch and the service is successfully completed
I do an on demand self test on the ipc and passes successfully
I do the pcm engine off test and I get lost communication with range control module and invalid control monitoring

Once again.
What transmission is installed?
Is this a Euro or NA model?

1) Apply a power supply to the battery - NOT a battery charger
2) Disconnect anything you connected, especially at the battery - There may be an energy management system active in the background
3) Delete all faults in all controllers with Key ON Engine OFF!
4) If you used a "spreadsheet" reverse ALL the changes.
5) Please don't tell me you're attempting a PCM or other reset with the engine running?????????

The battery voltage indicates the engine is running!

It’s an automatic 6f
NA 2.5l

1.I have charged the battery. The battery is good now.
2. Everything has been disconnected and removed.
3.I delete all faults with key on and engine off with all controllers but those ones come up right away.
4. Any changes I made, have been reversed right away.
5. No I was not running the engine when trying to reset the pcm.
I ran the engine between tests to make sure the battery has a lot of juice.
I checked grounds everywhere.
It seems like it’s not talking to the the transmission range controller. But I can shift between gears with no issues. So it def does talk to it.
It won’t allow me to reset the pcm module, this I believe is my problem

Completely incorrect - That spread sheet and relay introduction corrupted the data. Canada eh?
The dead battery was no help trying to adapt and reset controllers.
How many fuses did you burn?
You know the correct way to attach a relay into a circuit?

Use the Snipping tool and post a clean image at the Modules Tab - That will indicate what is on the network and what is missing.
Post the device you are using.
Put a high quality jump pack on the battery, capture that specific image.
Go and find your As-Built data via the VIN of the vehicle. Download and scrape that page: copy and paste into a Word program.
https://www.motorcraftservice.com/AsBuilt

Next:
Either you have a seriously expensive power supply or the engine was running during that test or reset.
I see regulated generator voltage or you have a "buzz box battery charger" attached to the battery.
There is no way possible way to help you unless the information is absolutely correct.

Sorry, I lose wifi to my laptop, so I was trying to use wifi to my phone.
I will move the car to a better location and send you complete info, later today.
Yes I’m in Canada.
I didn’t blow any fuses. Everything worked as it should.
The car didn’t have fog lights. I bought a kit, fog lights and prewired wiring kit.
I checked grounds and all fuses, everything is good. I have a spare fuse box (engine bay) that I tried. But no difference.
The signal, on/off I used from the headlight. 12v signal and I got rid of the on/off switch that came with the kit.
Doesn’t matter, it’s all completely removed.

This thing worked perfectly. I had all the splash shields under the car off. Had the lights running well installing the shields.
After I tried to start the car and it only click/click, no start.
I put a booster pack and when I started it on, the right signal stayed on. Didn’t flash but stayed on. After a few minutes it went off but nothing worked.

Thanks for your help so far!
