ELM327 bricked

Post by gigimarfa »

Hello everyone, I think I just bricked my elm327 1.4 while trying to change the baudrate with one tool i found on the internet. Is there any way to revive this device? Its obviously an china clone one. My pc recognise the device while I plug it on COM6, but that's where it stops. No matter what baudrate I would set in device manager or in elmconfig it's not connecting.
I have tried to revert it back to 38400k but in STNTerm after I enter the commands strange green characters shows up, nothing to understand. (Things like +_((('('("")"??"!"' )
Maximum baudrate that I csn set in device manager is 900000.
While I enter the commands one green and yellow leds flash on the adapter while red for power is always on when connected.
If anyone can help revive me this adapter it would be great. Thanks in advance !

No, it's a brick. Get a good one:
OBDLink EX or the MX+
Stop using the tool with the new device.

You have try off .connect ELM327 device. Remove all software links to the throttling speed you're referring to.
Checking the connection has any changes?

Did you try updating the driver as instructed?
Device Manager-> Ports (COM&LPT)-> USB serial Port (COM3)->
Properties-> Deiver-> Update Driver.
