A success with a W7 machine with Virtual Box, W10 is next.
In the near future will poke into the Jag relationship with FORScan because of how it connects to IDS.

That is interesting to see the screenshots of SDD and all that you are able to do with the VIN even without having access to the car. Thanks for taking the time to explore this. I'm sure it will be a valuable thread for anyone looking to work on these cars.

This setup will likely program keys and remotes with a decent VCI.

A quick update for anyone following this who still needs to get keys/fobs programmed like me:

I ended up returning the blank keys/fobs I had bought and instead ordered a set of 2 precut keys from eBay for $99 + $25 shipping:
2 NEW Tibbe Remote Key Cut To Your Code for Jaguar 6 Cut With A 4D60 Chip Inside
https://www.ebay.com/itm/114456864395
sold by promasterlocksmith

I sent in my key code from my owner's manual and had the new keys in hand in a couple of days.
The standard programming instructions worked just fine on the first try since I already had two working keys.
One note is that you need to do the procedure from the beginning for each new key, not keep doing multiple keys after the initial steps are done once.

Then for the fobs, I found a shop named British Performance in Orange County, CA (https://britishautoservices.com)
They charged $149 (one hour minimum shop labor charge) to program the fobs. They have the factory scan tools for Jaguar and that is what they used.

So that ended up being a pretty decent cost overall compared to buying keys at the dealer, even though I would have liked to do it myself and have the tools. In this case, I just needed to get it done and move on to other things.

Thanks Ecmbuster for all the time you've spent helping me with this.

Good news the operation worked out. Correct "4D60 Chip".
This procedure was repeated many times and suspect a 4D60 chip defect.
Don't loose the keys. :D
