Well if you're VCDS adapter is already installed and working correctly with other software then all you need to do is tell FORScan to use that adapter. Go to settings or configuration part of FORScan.

Almost everything is set to "auto" , so it shouldnt be an issue , right ?

Maybe im missing something on the wi-fi settings ?

First go to your Device manager in windows with the VCDS connected and see where the VCDS is connected and what connection it is using Eg COM or USB serial converter( this would be FTDI). If it is using either of those you may have a shot.

If this is a USB connection the WIFI will have nothing to do with it.

Open the Drop Down next to "Connection Type" and see if the VCDS adapter is in the list. If it is then set that as the connection type and uncheck Auto Connect!
If it is not in the list and it does not show up in the list with choosing either FTDI or J2534 or a "COM" connection then the VCDS drivers are not being discovered by Forscan and are using a USB connection protocol that Forscan likely won't work with!

VCDS was built and designed for VW, Audi, Bentley, Lamborghini, SEAT, Skoda and in special cases the Porsche Cayenne.
The OEM cable has it's own drivers with the purpose to connect to VCDS.
VCDS connects to KWP2000, ISO9141, CAN (6 & 14) and the "L" line
The cheap chinese hacked cables are different and use FTDI drivers and completely unreliable.
It is not J2534 or anything close to ELM devices.
This was tested many times and here is today's collection with no connection to the standard NA Ford F150
It's like shoving a square peg into a round hole.

Your friend didn't tell you about the "clone" cable with VCDS.
