Where do I find the activation code for a obd link ex ?? I’m new to all this. Thanks for your help. Do I have to plug into truck first to get it ?? Thanks for the help

Not sure what you mean by "activation code" but this site has support and drivers:

Load the drivers they suggest.
If using FORScan, it needs to be installed as well.
Attach the cable, then attach the OBD end to the data link.
There's lots of reading material here, take the time to read it.

There is no activation code for the obdlink ex. Read the white card that came with the device. If you plug the EX into the laptop and the light turns from red to yellow then the correct drivers are installed. If it stays read then go to scantool.com and download the latest driver.
