Wifi elm 327 v1.5 unable to connect to vehicle

Hi Everyone, I’m having problem connecting to my 2010 f150 with my wifi elm 327 v1.5 adapter (amazon). It connect to the wifi on my win 10 computer, FORScan recognize the adapter but then it says unable ton connect to vehicle... I tried with FORScan on my iphone, same problem.

When i use the adapter with iphone car scanning tool it works .

The members should know what version and where you purchased the adapter.

A personal preference is Blutooth or J2534

Thanks for the help after posting I did my research on the forum and found that post. I should have done it before posting my question :roll: . I ordered a new adapter that should be compatible.

I have only been using Forscan for 2 weeks....
Best way that i found to connect to virtually any adapter was to get an old smart phone - reset it to factory defaults / format etc - and use it as a separate standalone display for OBD Apps in the car on a phone holder attached on the windscreen near the OBD port

When i used my everyday mobile - Connection was difficult due to other things being connected via Bluetooth - Car entertainment and Ford Sync etc

Everything works a treat for me at present using the method above - instant connection and no mucking about for 10 mins etc
