Are there known problems with those?
I haven't tried with a car yet, but Forscan and Focccus seem to accept it.
Only Elmconfig says it doesn't find the adapter.
I'm using an old 32-bit laptop with windows XP.
There is also the runtimepack, but my computer says it's not valid Windows program. Maybe it's for 64-bit Windows?
Is Elmconfig even supposed to work on 32-bit XP?
According to Windows device manager, the serial converter used is actually CH430.
A-ha. The runtimepack was zero-length, because it seemed to be infected by some virus. Tried a new one, but that didn't help.
When I tried to connect, I got:
[edit3]Correct response from adapter timed.
Received response to request "":
Trying to download the runtimepack from the original source doesn't seem to succeed. It's probably reported to have malware even if virus scanners (VirusTotal) didn't find anything wrong with it. Firefox and Chrome seem to refuse downloading it.
Tried with the car, and Forscan worked fine.
I wonder if Forscan can be used for enabling towbar related stuff, and if, then how...
I heard that Focccus is a bit unreliable?
