ELM327 won't pair with Samsung S7 Android Phone

Post by rber » Thu Jul 11, 2019 6:44 pm

Hello All
I now have two ELM327 mini OBD Bluetooth units that I cannot pair to with my phone. When my phone does a search for bluetooth devices it does seem to recognize each one because it will list the MAC address(es) of the ELM327 but the MAC address will not change to a name. When I try and pair to it (select the MAC address) it says it cannot pair to the device. I have downloaded Torque Pro as will and it will not pair through the app either. Any ideas as to how to get this to work?

Found the problem. OBD power is on the same circuit as one of the cigarette lighters (fuse #3; 20a). It was blown and therefore no 12v to OBD pin #16. Replaced fuse and the ELM327 lit up and started working right away :D .
