Hi. i´ve configured several vehicles using Forscan. To activate your back up camera in Sync 2 you should set your APIM with this code:

7D0-01-01 x3xx x1xx xxxx

I tested that configuration in diferent Ford Fiesta using Sync 2, but it is the same APIM module, so it have to work.

with this codes you get your back up camera to work. if you do not have yor camera connected, you can program your APIM, put your car in Reverse shift and wait for a few seconds until your display shows someting similar to "camera not detected. Direct to your dealer". That means the car is correctly programed, and then you can use any back up camera, not only Ford cameras. Obvioulsy you need a video connector behind the display to connect your cam; you can buy an adapter or make connections by your own (i prefer an adapter).

did you end up using an OEM or aftermarket camera? I enabled the APIM feature, and that seems to be ok. But it doesn't seem that my 2013 Escape SEL was pre-wired in the rear hatch. I can't find a harness for the OEM camera.

I used an aftermarket camera from amazon and a wiring harness from there as well

This is the harness:
OCSTAR 54 Pin Apim Connector Sync 1 Ford Camera Input Harness Cable Extension on SYNC 2 or SYNC 3 with RCA Connector for Camera 35cm 14 inches

This is the camera:
NOAUKA Waterproof IP68 Night Vision 170 Degree Car Rear View/Reversing/Reverse Camera Universal Color CMOS Imaging Chip Backup Parking HD Front View Camera

I ran power to the camera from a T tap into the reverse light and grounded near there as well hooked all the wires and ran forward once the dash is apart the harness connects into the factory one and then you just plug in your video connector if I remember correctly I have since sold the escape and went with a 19 ranger

Hi There!
I have a Brit S Max and was going along the same lines. No harness connectors either for the camera or image processor, I have been told the harnesses suit the build spec only and retro fit isn't catered for.
I am going to use a T harness of Amazon and a small camera and then program hopefully.

Best, John.

A good result!

I used the non "As Built" option and managed ( I cant remember how!) to get to the enable/disable options, and simply selected enabled and saved the changes.
I now have a blue screen in reverse because I haven't fitted the camera yet, and a reduced vehicle PDC image which works as before. :) :D

Just the installation to do now. This has saved loads, kits for retrofit DIY are near the £300 mark with a programmer dongle.
I think my total outlay with the camera, T Harness, and a trim remover kit from Amazon is about £55.00. :)

I have a screenshot of the re-written APIM As Built if anybody is interested, it may not suit US models.
