Understanding the Codes that are changed

Post by Rockin S » Wed Oct 03, 2018 11:01 pm

New to Forscan and Ive done a ton searches and watched several Videos, but I cant find the info Im looking for. so, If the numbers you change is the 9338 in the following code **** 9338 **** , Does the software automatically change some of the Numbers in the **** area?

And can some one explain this to me? Like what does it do?
Front Lamp Outage On (LED-Hyperflash)
Front Lamp Outage Off (LED-Hyperflash)
Rear Lamp Outage On (LED HyperFlash)
Rear Lamp Outage Off (LED HyperFlash)

If you install an LED bulb where an halogen bulb normally goes in the turn signal you will end up with a hyper flash. Meaning the bulb will flash 2 to 3 times faster than it should. Also you could end up with a bulb out warning if you use LED in the headlight or brake light or turn signal. Because your bcm can detect a LED being lower resistance than a halogen bulb, in turn giving a false reading of bad bulb/bulb out. To use LED without problems you can turn off bulb out detection.

Also if you are trying to change tank size you would change

IPC

720-01-02 **** 9338 **** For a 65 gallon tank

Just change the four middle numbers leave the **** bits original.

Hit write

It will give you a warning that the checksum is incorrect, meaning the last two digits/bits

Forscan will calculate and change it when you hit ok
