Changing Blink Count In 2014 Focus

Post by EmoJim » Sat May 26, 2018 6:56 pm

I saw on the Ford F-150 forum there is an as built data block you can change to increase or decrease the counts on the blinks with the one touch blink system. My Focus is set to only 3 blinks and i would like to change it to do 6 blinks. In the Ford truck forum they show a spreadsheet that tells you how to change the blink count. But is says i have to go into the SCCM ( Steering Column Control Module) to make the change. Well my Focus doesn't have a SCCM module. It has a SASM (Steering Angle Sensor Module). This is where my turn signal switch and wiper switches connect or plug into on the steering column. So i went into FORscan and tried to get into my SASM to see if i can see the block number to make the change and it doesn't even show that module as being able to make changes to the as built data meaning i guess that module is not programmed that way. So does anyone know how to change the blink count on a Ford Focus MK3?

First of all, the SASM module is not responsible for the direction indicators. There is no SCCM module in Focus 2014, so the BCM module is responsible for the direction indicators. I do not know if you change this with FORScan. But as I look for it I would look for the BCM module
Greetings :)

Hi all.

I too am wondering if this parameter can be changed. I have a 2017 Focus ST, and am looking for assistance in increasing the turn signal count when the soft-touch indicator is used. Default is 3 and I am looking to increase it to 6 or 7.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I also am looking for this count change on my 2017 ST2. All hiway driving makes this an attractive mod. I also added a programmable third brake light flasher for added safety. Thing is sometimes it must trip a voltage sensor or maybe it’s defective but randomly it will drop from 7 fast flashes to steady, to one quick flash then steady. The wife’s 2017 escape does the same thing.

The Forscan developers have not made this change to the central configuration. CC programming is different from the F-150 programming/configuration. Maybe it is too difficult or there is not enough demand to make this function available.
