unable to calibrate guide lines 2011 ford edge

Post by rjcapp » Mon May 07, 2018 12:53 pm

I replaced the backup camera on my 2011 ford edge....successfully connected to my 2011 ford with foscan but the calibration for the guide lines is not available. Anyone else have this issue or figured out how find / add the cal?

purchased the camera off of ebay...it works except no guide lines

sorry for the delayed response...thanks for the response

china camera purchased on ebay....
I cant even try the calibration for lines - I downloaded forscan 2.3.14 and the test for "BdyCM Rear Camera Calibration" is not available
should it be there?

I can connect fine, i was able to clear all DTCs', I need the BdyCM Rear Camera Calibration test to show up

Or if I bought the overpriced ford camera and installed a ford camera Forscan would know and the "BdyCM Rear Camera Calibration" test would be available?

Shouldn't the calibration be there no matter what camera is installed?

Support informed me The function you need is called "Local Interconnect Network New Module Calibration".
I will try it tomorrow

FYI, I had to replace the camera in a 2011 MKX, the new camera had no guide lines also. I just performed the "Local Interconnect Network New Module Calibration" and now the guidelines are back. I did buy a Ford/Lincoln camera because the Chinese clone did not fit. I have no idea why Ford's camera cost 10x as much though.

I have a 2012 Lincoln MKX same as your Edge. I tried to calibrate my camera too but it would not hold the calibration. After the second shift into reverse it would be gone. Took it to the Ford dealer and he had the same problem but gave me some hints to look for corrosion in connectors so I brought it home took the only one that I knew was exposed to moisture and it looked o.k.. So I hooked up Forscan again but this time I not only recalibrated the camera {BCM} Body Control Module on my car but also I was getting a code for my Parking Aid Module {PAM} so I recalibrated that too. Presto, Camera works, zoom function works and warning colors are on the camera too.
Alot of these functions take different readings from other sensors. In this case the camera takes reading from the Parking aid module and it can't install the lines if it doesn't get good info on how close it is to something, so it does nothing.

Thanks, that was just the info I needed to get the lines back on my 2012 Edge!
