I found a really simple solution. On my 2018 there is a plug connected to the negative battery cable, just unplug it, the only thing it effects is the auto start/stop function.

Can it really be this simple? No error codes? No other problems?

Yes wondering if it’s that easy myself.

I tried the solution suggested by mkennyg2 on our 2018 Navigator. The auto start/stop icon still appears in the cluster, the setting in the Advanced Settings > Vehicle > Auto Engine Off - Check box still won't stay unchecked when the ignition switch is cycled and the Auto Engine Off switch (on the console) remains unlit (not off). It looks like disconnecting the jumper does not work! :(

Me bad! I was in error... Disconnecting the jumper does work. However, there is no indication that the Start / Stop function has been disabled.

I have done this exact thing. Just pull that plug like in the pic. Auto start/stop is disabled.
I was told about this plug from my dealer.
Edit: I have a 2018 F150 platinum

jdluke,
Is your F150 auto start/stop icon missing from the cluster when you disconnect the plug? And, does the Auto Engine Off switch remain unlit (not off)?

Has anyone else tried this plug disconnect? I'm leary that it would affect something else?

This plug goes to the battery current monitor (measuring flow from the negative terminal). If I recall right, the BCM uses this to assess overall battery health and performance. Disconnecting it inhibits the BCM from doing so. The logical assessment is... why should the vehicle auto start-stop if the vehicle's systems can't determine if the battery is healthy enough to do so? After all, its not just the 12+ DC volts that starts an engine... its the amps too...

I have completed this on several F150s 2018 all trim levels including Raptor. Has anyone figured out how to keep the engine idling without shutting off while the vehicle is in park for longer than 30 min? Any help would be appreciated.

slotkar, Sorry I have been out of pocket for awhile.
But no, the Icon in the cluster menu is still visible and the light on switch above the radio remains off "unlit"
Since I removed the plug I haven't actually gone into that menu because... well, never need to. but I will go into it and see what any diff's there are.
I hope this is what you were asking
