TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION WITH SYNC 3

Post by Martyghia »

Good evening everyone.
Just joined the forum and have used the vast knowledge here to change the APIM in my car from a sync 2 to a sync 3 module.
The module has SYNC 3.4 already installed and with perseverance I have almost completely got the coding down and have added a few extra tweaks such as dab station identifiers and tyre pressure monitoring.
The only outstanding issue i have with my vignale is the traffic sign recognition system.
It is now registering reduced performance and will only recognise a traffic sign as you approach it.
I did not have this issue with the sync 2 system as i believe it receives data from the sat nav to allow it to estimate speeds on roads without signs...ie on a motorway it shows 70mph...etc.

I know there must be a coding required to allow the system to receive data from the APIM, biut I cannot find any mention of it in the spreadsheet.
Can anyone help out with a code from a similar vignale or previous experience with this issue?
I have codes from a 2016 mondeo vignale almost the same as mine, however it had a sync 3 apim however it did not have acc like my 2015 vignale.
i assume this is also connected through the camera so do not want to adjust against the coding for the acc parts.
I have also noticed the 2019 sync 3.4 APIM I am using has additional lines of code in the APIM so cannot do a complete factory return using the data from the 2016 in case i mess it up completley.

Any help would be greatly apreciated.

Raylion

thank you for replying, unfortunately this does not work with my unit as these settings are already in place on the direct config menu.

Having trawled through a few forums i think the option I am looking for is "fusion mode" to allow the signal from sat nav and camera to feed in together, however I cannot find it listed.

The "fusion" mode is a TSR setting in the IPMA (706 )module not IPC (720) ...
If it worked before , that is strange or you changed the IPMA settings.
reload asbuilt in the IPMA or verify the settings with forscan.
You can also send your VIN in PM , so i can check .

Hi roy,
My car is 2020 Escape with sync+ asian model. I have read one of your post and changed the 706-01-01 from '0426 99C9 A9' to '0426 BDDA A9'. The TSR and TSR Overspeed in IPC have been Enabled by using Forscan 2.3.33. But the TSR menu are not activated. With all these settings done, there are only 2 empty circles in my panel without any traffic sign information.
Really hope you can help.
Thank you.

Thank you Roylion
I tried that code with no success.
Is there a learning time for the system or should it work straight off the bat?
I drove through a number of sign areas, however the same issue exists in that the sign is recognised when approached but over next distance fades or dissapears and will not revert back to national speeds when leaving limit area.
