So I have a 2016 Mustang EcoBoost. And this didn't work. After all the steps I go to MyKey and there isn't any other options but MyKey status.

Long time wrench turner, part time tech tuner:

I'm posting because i'm the type of person that needs assurances when it came to messing wih my Pony. So if you're one of those people like me that need "without a doubt", " all questions answered" proof, then this post is for you.

I have a 2015 MUSTANG GT PREMIUM WITH THE TRACK PACK AND EVERY OPTION and SHE'S A 6 SPD. I lost my admin key, leaving me with only the valet key that i had set up with "MYKEY" feature. I was limited to 65 mph, the volume would not go above half way, the saftey reminder chimed every time i stepped on the gas, etc. I purchased the ELMconfig cable from Amazon ($34), downloaded FORscan and followed every registration and license direction to the letter. Then I found this thread and followed it to the letter. Within 5 mins i had my car back to normal.
Just to clarify... Once i decided i wasnt paying FORD $330+, nor was i paying a locksmith $150-$200; the longest part of the process was waiting for the cable to arrive... which took less than a week. This was easy. Thank you to those that posted before me and Thank you FORscan.

well if you have every option this means you have remote , which means u didnt have to any of this just use the remote start and you could have removed the my key option with out doing anything else , which is why it worked for you.
i am the same as you just a forscan user still learning .
The search function is there for a reason use it.
no you can no longer pm me with your 1 or 0 posts so dont try.

This worked for me in a 2018 mustang. I got the car with only 1 key and purchased another and just had the dealer reprogram it for me but they didn't remove the original two so now it says i have 3 admin keys.

Because of that, and because i was trying to figure out what mykey even does, i programmed both as a mykey and couldnt clear them without forscan.

What i did not see mentioned here and didn't find out until afterwards, was that the KOER test apparently wipes the TPMS sensors so that screen is now blank for me. Not a huge deal, the tool to reprogram them is only 15 bucks on Amazon. Much less than whatever the dealer would have charged me to fix the mykey issue.

2017 ford focus - just says immobilser active check blah blah ,then my key active ,

so no dont work on 2017's.
tested with just turning engine off key in ignition acc position then on , engine off with key in ignition all off , key out of ignition
on number 5 in the list.
I think someones winding you up or they used the master key by mistake and not the my-key - get in touch with them and get them to send you a video of it.....
if they use remote start then that is why it worked as it run in admin mode with remote start so can only be done with remote start on a my-key.
it's interesring

I can't get past step 1 to clear the myKey on a 2018 F150 with remote start.

My iPhone connects to the wifi of the ELM327 device I purchased and installed. After opening Forscan Lite that I also purchased, the Forscan Lite app won't connect to vehicle. When I press "connect", the pointer on the dial takes off, the connect icon on the dial turns from red to green, but when it gets all the way around it keeps recycling through the dial and the car icon stays red. I'll get the unable to connect message that says make sure your car is on-which it is- and try again. But it never connects.

Any suggestions?

Once I got an appropriate scan tool...big THANKS BAFX!!!...and Forscan Lite, I followed the instructions:

But one of our users found a workaround about how to clear MyKeys with FORScan but without any programming. It can be done in FORScan for Windows or FORScan Lite for iOS, Android. Here is the exact sequence:

1. Start the car and connect to it with FORScan.
2 Start PCM KOER test (Tests->PCM Key On Engine Running On Demand Self Test)
3. Wait until the test is completed
4. Remove keyfob from the car in case of keyless system (with engine start button). In case of standard blade key, you have to block the transponder (for example, wrap the keyfob with a foil).
5. Stop the engine (turn the ignition off)
6. Turn the igfnition On but don't run the engine.
7. Go to MyKey menu in your instrument cluster and execute Clear MyKeys option .

You now have MyKey removed.

It worked perfectly and easy.

2018 F150 remote start, BAFX1278(Amazon), Forscan lite(App Store), iPhone

Thank you to all who posted as well. Literally could not have done it without you.
