Equalizing stereo signal?

Post by Condor1970 » Tue Jul 23, 2019 3:49 pm

I have 2018 Mustang GT with the 6-speaker base stereo and sync 1.

The factory speakers were terrible, so I installed a set of Pioneer D-series using the factory wiring. I did not install a sub woofer. I was also getting terrible bass from the rear deck. The new speakers are a little better, but nothing as good as the doors. yet, the rear deck speakers are also Pioneer D-series 6.5's.

Anyway, I thought the programming settings for the 727-01-02 block would be 0300 - 32, but it's not.

I'm getting 0100 - 32.

To equalize the signal, I'm not sure what settings to give it. I thought it was supposed to be 0000, but not sure what to do now.

Any suggestions?

Also, if I change it to 0000, some say I MUST run an aftermarket amp. Why?

I thought the aftermarket speakers could easily handle the extra bass.

OK, I did some tinkering with that value. I went ahead and changed block 727-01--02 from 0100 - 32, to 0000 - xx.

Here's the thing. When I changed the value to 0000 and hit "write". It saved that value, but automatically changed the second value of 32, to 31.

Now, it reads 0000 - 31.

Why is that?

I have a 2018 Mustang Ecoboost with base radio. Having trouble finding the 727 code lines. my goal is to turn off the eq as well.

For my Kuga MK2 from 8/2018 is for ACM the original parameter "727-01-01 0131". I also want to use an external amplifier / DSP. A change is only possible on 0030 or 0232. Every other parameter is rejected. There is no sound difference between the three possible. :?: :?: :?:

ACM settings are in the F150 spreadsheet. It takes a while to read and understand all of the settings. Google search the terms and abbreviations you don't want understand.

Some ACM settings only work on the Sony premium units. Pre-amp outputs is one example. Equalizer delete may be another. Other settings and options require the proper ACM unit like HD radio and Sat radio.

So the basic ACM probably does not have many options.

ok so the preamp out setting wont work with my base radio. Good to know as now I will have to modify my plans for after market amp. Hopefully I will at least be able to get rid of the eq. Not much info on the base radio mods. There are so many posts and different people talking about different models its very hard to figure out what works with what I have. Hopefully I can find more info on the base radio.

That's right, my ACM has almost no possibilities. Now I will measure the frequency spectrum with the three settings "0030, 0131 and 0232" and then decide.

Your ELM adapter probably is not reading the MS CAN. This problem is discussed many times on this forum.
