Fake engine sound(sound symposer) turn of ST3 2013

Post by milanvo »

Hello,
I have a Focus ST3 2013 and want to turn of the sound symposer (engine sound enhancement).
I have disassembled the sound symposer and now want to get rid of the error codes by turning it off.

Anyone know how to do That?

Search FENG (fake engine noise) on various Focus forums. It's been covered extensively.

That are all facelift models with the engine sound through the speakers. I have a pre facelift with the sound through a sound symposer.

Look in BdyCM (main) for any speaker settings. Maybe one will delete the symposer. You can also try installing a resistor in place of the symposer. I don't know what resistance value the module will recognize as the symposer ..try 10-20 ohm. Clear the DTC and see if it returns.
