How to disable bms on 2017 ford escape

Post by Adrixe » Tue Jan 14, 2020 3:59 pm

Hi guys.
Im new here. I have a 2017 ford escape sport. Im having some problems with my vehicle. Everytime we drive it, our info system will shut off and will say battery saving or something. Car will continue to run. I downloaded forscan and reset the bms. But it didnt work and continue to shutoff. And it almost shut the engine off as well. This doesnt happen when its just parked only when its driving.
Is there anyway I can disable the bms using forscan? If someone know how I would really appreciate it.
I live in Nunavut Canada, most northern part of canada and we dont have a dealer here. The vehicle has to be flown out of the community to do so. So dealer is off the table.
I only drive maybe 2kms to work. Always plug it in and come with a battery tender installed so it trickle charge the battery is plugged. At home I have a heated garage. Just some background.
We just bought the vehicle from someone in town.

You should be able to disable BMS in BdyCM (main). You need an extended license. BMS is an option listed and you can select "without BMS" and save the configuration.

Save the BdyCm configuration before you make any changes!

I followed the instructions to disable the bms under the BdyCM(main) under engineering 2. selected "without BMS" and saved it.
The entertainment system still shuts down because of power saving.

Question, do I have to save this in the backup as well?

Thanks!

I think you need to click the "write" button after you make the change. "Save" may only make a backup copy.
