APPCRASH in Windows

Post by jar17 » Fri Nov 20, 2015 3:51 pm

Hi, I have install FORScan version 2.2.8 in spanish for windows 7, it work some time very well, but later I have an error when use option for check PID, it start but almost immediately fail and the error is APPCRASH in module FORScan.exe with exception c0000005, for my case the OS version is 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.4.
Others option work fine, this error is only in PID, this happen with version 2.2.7 too.
I apply a configuration suggested in other places but it doesn't work and it was about add FORScan in exception for DEP on windows.
I appreciate If someone know another solution to this error.
Thanks

Sorry for delay with reply, please note requests that require fast support respopnse should be addressed to support via PM or email. Forum is not processed on everyday basis because of high team load.

Regarding this problem: this sound like a bug in FORScan and must be investigated. Please send us FORScan logs as instructed below:

1. Open FORScan and connect to vehicle and reproduce the problem (the app crash in your case)
2. Disconnect from vehicle and close FORScan.,
3. WIndows Start button->All programms->FORScan->FORScan Log folder.
4. Folder with logs will be opened, you should see 2 files there: dump.bin and FORScan.log (may be more). Please zip them and send via PM or email. Email address can be found here: http://forscan.org/contactus.html

Thanks in advance.

Here’s the mail I got recently for my problem
When you upgraded to Windows 7 did you perform a normal install or did you do a custom (clean) install? Here is a couple things to try.
Perform a Clean Boot to just make sure nothing else is getting in the way.

Create a new user and install one of the games on that user and test.

Run the System File Checker and Disk Error Check
Or otherwise try this - How To Fix Appcrash “Some Programs” Has Stopped Working?

ablubeti wrote: so, i tried as they said
Open the Startmenu and click Control Panel
Browse to System Maintenancethen System
In the left side, select Advanced System Settings
System Properties Window comes up. Select the setting from the top named Performance.
Select Data Execution Prevention.
Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
Use the Browsebutton to locate your file. I my case my internet explorer is not working so I’m searching for main internet explorer file and makes it in exceptions list.
Click Applyor OK .
This is a bad idea to disable DEP. if you experience a crash with FORScan , you need to make sure you use the latest version (2.2.11 ATM) and if it is the latest but the problem still exists, you need to contact the support. We need detailed information about the problem in order to localize and fix it.

Galletto replaces system FTDI driver with it's own that has some protection functions. As a result, FORScan crashes. Quick fix is to place normal ftd2xx.dll to the folder with FORScan.exe. You can download the dll from FTDI site, or download from here:

http://forscan.org/download/ftd2xx.zip
