IPC Firmware Update Custom Mode - Are these compatible?

Post by carneb »

I would like to update the firmware in my 2016 MK5 Mondeo IPC to try to unlock extra features, specifically turn but turn Nav directions. Looking in Forscan under Module Firmware Update my IPC has the following details:

Part No. GS7T-10849-BEC
Calibration Level GS7T-10849-BEC
Hardware Number FS7T-14F094-BCA
SBL GS7T-14C025-CAA
Calibration GS7T-14C088-AEC
Strategy GS7T-14C026-AEC

Forscan shows there are no newer versions available.

It seems people are updating the firmware of their digital IPCs to 2018 firmware to get extra features. I've looked up the As Built details of the 2018 version of my car using a VIN Number and these are the details from the as built data:

Part No./ Calibration Level JS7T-10849-BEC
Hardware No. JS7T-14F094-BCB
Calibration JS7T-14C088-AEB
Strategy JS7T-14C026-AEB

Can anyone tell me if these firmware files will be compatible with my IPC and will be safe to flash?

It seems the single window IPC can't show nav directions so theres no point in flashing the firmware.
