Re: open circuit cylinder 1 focus 1.8tdci 2009 mk2

Does look like there's a problem with cylinder one, if it was mine I would swap injector one with another cylinder, if the high balance reading follows injector one then its proof injector one is shot, if it stays at the same cylinder then it would point to a wiring problem with that cylinder.

Re: Mk4 Mondeo Battery Management System reset

The bms self calibrates at regular intervals and in order to do so the amp draw on the battery has to be less than 100mv for three hours or more so checking amp draw when car has shut down is a good idea.

Does the start-stop system work correctly with the bms disconnected.

Re: Missing PIDs

It would be interesting to know if ford ids shows any dpf pids for your car, if it does the Forscan hasn't added them yet.

Re: I may need a new ECU

Good to hear you got it sorted, disconnecting the ecu must have cleared its memory then it started controlling the egr again until it logged the problem.

Re: I may need a new ECU

With the ecu controlling the vacuum valve with a pulse width duty cycle it's hard to know what values to expect when testing, it's the sort of test you would need an oscilloscope for checking. I wonder if the control wire at the valve was back probed and the voltage checked with everything connected...

Re: I may need a new ECU

Does Forscan show any fault codes, and egr duty cycle. The spec for testing the vacuum valve is with the car running there should be 10 volts or over across the solenoid connector.

Re: I may need a new ECU

My car is a different year to yours so I don't know if it will help but if I measure voltage to the vacuum valves with key on it reads battery voltage, my the two vacuum valves are supplied voltage from the same fused spliced wire from engine fuse box, if you have the same setup then you should see ...

Re: Missing PIDs

Different year cars have different pids, for instance my 08 mondeo has only pids 3, 4 and 5 and the 2010 mondeo has only pids 1 and 2.
I would be surprised if your car hasn't one or the other.
