Re: do i need to use PATS to prgram key

hi, got the b1600 dtc code. key can not be programed. can anyone tell me if there is a way to find out what type transponder chip is in original key. Same question. I got a chip that Forscan doesn't recognize. Seller wrote it's 4D-60. But I have Mk2 Focus that should be using 4D-63 according to htt...

Re: Which inexpensive adapter to buy for key programming?

I bought bbfly-BB77102 Bluetooth.
Here are the modules it showed for my Focus: GDM, CDP, PRDM, DRDM, PDM, DFDM, RCM, PAM, NAV, EATC, ACM, GEM, PCM, OBDII, ABS, EPS, IC.
Can't say whether some are missing and if other adapters can show more. Modules list shows 180 modules.

Re: Where to buy a compatible adapter?

As a courtesy for prospective users and a small sign of gratitude for all the info found here, I made an overview of what's written here. If I'm wrong, please explain. As for ELM adapters, I guess price says all about quality. The ELM327, with all its known advantages, is an amateur level adapter de...

Re: Which inexpensive adapter to buy for key programming?

I'm looking for the least inexpensive adapter that is confirmed working in FORScan so I can do key programming. Same. There are warnings that some clones don't work (ELM327 and ELS27), but hard to find confirmation for those that do. Now I found this: http://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=49...

Re: Key Fob programming

Question not clear, whether you followed the instruction from lightning413, did you get a chime or not. I confirm I did it so.

Re: Ford diagnostic tool review: Which one is the best

It would be nice to have an overview of different approaches: ELM327 vs. VCM vs. VCM2 vs. general auto diagnostic tools. With software and hardware used. I see Forscan covers 180 modules http://www.forscan.org/modules_list.html and it works with ELM327. Not sure what is ELS27 cable. I wondered wheth...

Re: Where to buy a compatible adapter?

Basic recommendations are: 1. ODBLink MX (expensive solution), or may be cheaper alternative that use STN1170/STN2120 family (ELS27, Viaken etc...) 2. J2534 (expensive solution, also majority have no MS-CAN support and BT interface, so only applicable for Windows version) - CanTieCar, VCMII etc 3. ...
