Re: Newbie needs help

Hello Shawn I am afraid you will need a Ford VCM2 or one of the good Chinese clones in order to read the Vehicle Security Module (VSM) and possibly other modules on that bus( My 05 only has the VSM on that bus but it is a base model and has very few options) with Forscan. It is on a bus called Uart ...

Re: 2002 Ford Explorer MSCAN

Hello again Then you likely have a module configuration that looks like my 03 Expy consisting of SCP/PWM, ISO and UBP. The SCP/PWM and ISO Buses are readable and configurable by ELM327 based adapters. Forscan was attempting to develop a way to read the UBP bus using elm based adapters with a modifie...

Re: OBDLink® EX

Hello Reread the minimum computer specs as I doubt "Forscan for Windows" will even install let alone run on a Chrome Book as it is mostly a web browser running on a basic Linux kernel. No experience with the Android and I phone versions! Would probably need to run under Wine if it is even possible o...

Re: re right adaptor

Hello

No MSCan support without a complicated, and varying success rate, internal modification!

Look for Forscan recommended OBDlink EX adapter which has MSCan support built in.

Re: missing modules

Hello

Do a forum search with Uart Based Protocol support as your search term and you will most likely find the answer to your question.

Re: 2002 Ford Explorer MSCAN

Hello JedW76 Look at your Data Link OBD connection in the Explorer and if it has a pin 3 and no pin 11 then it has no MSCan and likely has a UBP bus on pin three. This bus can only be read in Forscan with Fords VCM2 or Chinese built VCM2 Clone! If the Explorer is similar to my 03 Expedition, the Veh...

Re: download

Hello Doog: This applies to the Standard 2 Month License assuming that is what you are having trouble with? If you are trying to open it within Windows, don't. All you will see is a Windows Registry Class ID and a long string of numbers and letters that are only understood by the (here there be drag...

Re: 2003 Expedition BCM not detected

Hello jdlauth; The early Expeditions up to at least 2004/2005, had the VSM (Vechcle Security Module) which performs similar function as The BCM (Body Control Module) in later Fords, on a network protocol called UPB (Uart Based Protocol) and is unfortunately not accessible with ELM327 based adapters....

Re: tire pressure monitoring system (tpms)

Hi Yes the second number in the second block is the one to change. What I posted in my reply was what I found in my 03 Eddie Bauer. The 04's may be different depending on build date. The last digits are a check sum and should calculate automatically correct if the correct change is made in the block...
