Re: BMS reset

Hello, I have the same problem. I foud out that part of the problem is a bug in forscan. You select a specific battery type, but in reality forscan writes to the configuration a different one. In order to change to the desired battery type you need to manualy edit the AsBuild configuration, so that...

Appreciate your pointers. Was able to save a lot of time mucking about diagnosing by hand...

Managed to secure new latch with the microswitch from Rates Ford via their eBay site for an acceptable price (fulfilled by Ford UK direct), problem seems to be cured. FORScan saves time again!

Re: Mk7.5 ST (2012-2019) alarm intermittent sounding, possible to read sensor diagnostics from activations?

Have a look in the BCM, (it is sometimes called GEM in some cars) and there should be a PID that tells you what triggered the Alarm the last 4 times. Ah yeah, I forgot that route! Thanks for the reminder 8-) (sorry in advance, this was going to be a short reply but has turned into a log of my findi...

Mk7.5 ST (2012-2019) alarm intermittent sounding, possible to read sensor diagnostics from activations?

My 2016 Mk 7.5 ST has recently started activating its OEM alarm at random times, presumably because it registers a sensor misfire as an intrusion attempt. My aftermarket alarm only arms if it sees all doors+boot+bonnet closed. Tellingly, this evening it didn't rearm when I tried to lock the car unti...

Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?

As @mplieb commented to me via PM (and which I only just saw, apologies again mplieb!) FORScan doesn't yet have ABS bleed implemented for his model vehicle. May be the same for you...

Do you see MSCAN and HSCAN protocols supported in the FORScan Modules page when you're live connected to the vehicle?

Re: Where to buy a compatible adapter?

I bought this adapter recently to cycle the ABS pump on my Mk. 7 (MY16) Fiesta ST and it worked perfectly. Described on Amazon as "Dailyinshop ELS27 FORScan OBD2 USB Scanner". Shopped around quite a lot to find a convincing looking adapter which was described as using an STN1170 chipset. Y...

Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?

Sorry for not replying sooner. I specifically went for an ELS27 because it stated full support for both MS- and HS-CAN. There's a good post on here: https://forscan.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6142 This has a long table of various adapters, compatible protocols etc. The key is having an STN11x...

Re: Anybody using ABS features for brake bleeding?

AIUI you need to have an OBD adapter compatible with HS- and MS-CAN. If you do, the ABS Service Bleed option will appear in the Service menu. I bought this OBD adapter as it said it was STN1170 compatible (with MS-CAN support). Almost certainly a knockoff of a 'legit' adapter, but ended up working f...

Re: Disable Annoying Sync Voice Prompts

I've always understood it to be a function of the SYNC software which isn't defeatable. If you use USB to access media on the iPhone to play through the head unit it'll always index the files. I had the same problem on my Android phone when I tried it; I quickly gave up and switched to Bluetooth. If...
