2009 F150 PATS issues

FORScan 2.3.11 beta

I need a little help with my 2009 F150. I changed the instrument cluster (to fix other problems, which is OK now). I was not successful in erasing and programming keys, as I found I had one original key, and a clone. The original Ford key is stamped "S", which I think is 40 bit.

To try to fix that, I bought a new ignition switch core and two new keys (aftermarket parts). The keys are possibly knock-offs, but they are stamped "SA", likely 80 bit. I can't successfully program the PATS with the two new keys. After several tries, what I now have is an error on entering erase and program:

(OK) [17:34:43.097] Number of keys stored: 0
(ERR) [17:34:48.992] No keys are programmed in this module
(OK) [17:34:51.699] Number of keys stored: 0
(ERR) [17:34:54.497] PATS programming has been cancelled by operator

Here are the DTCs I'm reading now, with one of the new keys.

===PCM DTC P1000:00-2B===
Code: P1000 - On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) Systems Readiness Test Not Complete

- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

===PCM DTC P1260:00-2B===
Code: P1260 - Theft Detected, Vehicle Immobilized

- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

===IC DTC B1213-60===
Code: B1213 - At some time since last clear the ignition has been switched on with less than 2 keys stored.

- DTC Present at Time of Request
- Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC

And that's it. I'm stuck now because I can't enter the erase and program procedure, and there are "0" keys stored in the IC. This seems to contradict the DTCs which would indicate that the inserted key is recognized (no B16xx DTCs).

Any thoughts out there?

Hi everyone.
Very new to this and this is my first post.
(sorry if it's been asked before)
I'm not up to speed when it comes to re-syncing key fob remote to mk7 transit.
No faults found doing a scan with Forscan or with Delphi.
It's with the blue key. Battery has been checked and is ok.
Twin batteries under the seat have been checked and the front battery is faulty. Changing that battery today.
That battery does all the electrics on the truck. Rear battery is the engine start battery.
Will that solve the problem of the key fob or do you think I will need to re-programme the fob ?
I have never programmed a key or fob before, a bit worried as there is only 1 key to the truck and am concerned that I might erase that key by accident !!
When I scanned the amount of keys to the truck it said there are 4. I want to erase the other 3. I haven't a clue how to do this.
Any advise much appreciated.

Wanting to clarify something as I (may) attempt to do this for my truck.

Does this procedure pair both the key (metal stick that goes in the door lock and/or ignition) AND the keyless entry clicker? Or just the key itself so you can start the truck or manually unlock the doors, but no keyless?

My 2015 f150 came with only one key (3 button switchblade style key-fob combo) when I bought it. I have purchased a blank 5-button switchblade key-fob which I will have cut to match. So the first question is will this process land me two fully functional key-fob for both the ignition and keyless entry, or just keys for the ignition? Second is whether or not this procedure works on a later model vehicle such as the 2015, I haven't seen anyone in this thread with a vehicle that new doing this procedure.

Locksmiths and dealers around here want $180/key fob to cut and program, so I would love to avoid that cost if possible given that I already have forscan up and running.
