Activating Transmission Solenoids

Postby lmarkie74 » Tue Apr 24, 2018 3:46 pm

2002 Ford Explorer with P0775, P9732, and P0735. Transmission will not shift into 2nd and 5th gears. Shift Solenoid C is not activated for 2nd gear (Shift Solenoid A,C,D will give you 2nd gear). Shift Solenoid C is not activated for 5nd gear (Shift Solenoid C & D will give you 5th gear). This is an intermittent problem. Sometimes it works, most often it doesn't.

Will Forscan software allow you to activate the shift solenoids?

1st gear - A & D
2nd gear - A, C, & D
3rd gear - A, B, & D
4th gear - D
5th gear - C & D

Howdy;

While yer waitin' fer a response from someone who's already done it - or a Dev - why don't ye find out fer yerself?

Fire up Forscan, connect to yer ve-hikkle and see if the Output Control Mode function finds those actuators (a solenoid is a type of actuator).

Beats sittin' on yer hands - and it won't hurt a thing to go have a looksee, Da? IF they aren't listed or are greyed out, etc - chances are real good that it can't be done with this tool. At least, not yet. In that case you can always email the Devs with yer question/request.

Salut
Vlad

Thanks Partner,

Didn't know that "control" was in the pull down of the Output Control Module. I'll take a looksie!
