Re-program key fob for Mazda

Postby SergSlim » Mon Sep 11, 2017 1:14 pm

Hello,

Is it possible to erase all keys from car and add new one using ELM327 and FORScan?
I have Mazda 3 2015, and I lost one of the keys, so I ordered a new one and would like to add it to the system, and for it I have to erase all keys and then add one of the old keys + a new one.
I saw an instruction on how to do it, using OBDSTAR which costs a fortune: http://www.key-programmer.org/2016/12/0 ... a-obdstar/

I wonder if this can be done via cheaper method.

I'd like to know about programming key fobs as well. 2011 F250 with 1 key and I want to cut 2 new keys and program them.

I too have a 2015 Mazda 3 (aka Axela?). I tried running FORscan on my 2015 but didn't get a PATS option. As near as I can tell FORscan does not support the programming of "smart keys" (different system then PATS) that are used on Mazdas 2013 and newer.

Does FORscan ever plan to support this newer fob system?

When FORscan didn't work I decided to purchase the $150 F100 from Amazon. Surprise! It doesn't work. However the odometer change feature does work (I was able to reduce my vehicle by 2 miles - scary!). I am currently working with OBDstar tech support to get the device to work.
